Congratulations on a successful Debut Performance


Seventeen-year-old cellist Courtney Lin Kaita is a resident of Manalapan, New Jersey.  She is a student of Julie Albers.  Her previous cello teachers have included Marnie Kaller, Irene Sharp, Katrina Kormanski and Qiang Tu. Courtney was the first prize winner in the New Jersey Music Teachers Association Young Artists Competition, and has represented New Jersey multiple times in the solo Junior and Senior Strings Performance competition for the Eastern Division of the Music Teachers National Association Competition.  Courtney also received the Honorable Mention award in the 2006 New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition. 

Courtney made her solo debut with orchestra at age 13,  by performing the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto with the Edison Symphony in New Jersey.  She has also performed the Popper Hungarian Rhapsody with the Manalapan Battleground Symphony, and the Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations with the High Mountain Symphony.   Courtney has also performed in the Battleground Arts Center Showcase cable television program, and as a soloist at Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, and Merkin Concert Hall. In summer of 2004,  Courtney was featured as a Rising Star for the first Beijing Music Festival, performing in Forbidden City Concert Hall and People’s Congress Hall in Tiananman Square.   Her performance was broadcast on China Central Television across China.

Courtney Lin Kaita is currently the youngest teacher serving on the board of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association. She is also an Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Diploma and Licentiate recipient. She is a senior at Freehold High School in the Medical Sciences program.  Courtney plans to have a double major in music and mathematics in college.
