Ellen Fisher-Deerburg, Young Artists Competition
Ellen Fisher-Deerberg is the principal flutist of the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a graduate of Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music where she majored in music performance and studied with Murray Panitz, former principal flutist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Ellen is a well-respected freelance artist in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, and has performed in a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. She has been teaching flute for over 27 years and is currently on the faculty of the Westminster Conservatory of Music. In 2013 Ellen became the director of the Bravura Youth Orchestra's Flute Choir, as well as the chairperson of the Bravura Philharmonic’s Young Artists Competition. She is a member of the Volanti Flute Quartet in Princeton New Jersey and is also a frequent guest artist with the San Diego California flute quartet Flutes de Salon.
George Hicks, Treasurer
Dr. George Hicks served as Board President of the Manalapan Battleground Symphony Orchestra for 7 years and was a clarinetist in the orchestra. In earlier years when that Orchestra was sponsored by the Battleground Arts Council, he served as the orchestra’s treasurer. He also plays with several orchestra members in small chamber ensembles for private and community venues. An advocate for the Arts, George lives in Freehold and worked at Lucent Technologies for more than 27 years managing a software development team. He is now retired and dedicates time to raising awareness and enhancing collaboration with wide ranging community organizations and associations for a broad spectrum of the Arts.
Chiu-Ling Lin, Bravura Summer Music / Chamber Music
Chiu-Ling Lin is an international-renowned pianist, educator and former Artistic Ambassador who made extensive solo appearances in South America. Critics have written that she makes compositions “soar with her joyous and skilled interpretation.” Dr. Lin made her Carnegie Weill Recital Hall debut as the winner of the East and West Young Artist Auditions. She has soloed with orchestras such as the Atlanta Symphony, Chicago Civic Orchestra, Singapore Symphony, Des Moines Symphony & Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra. Her appearances in New York, Boston, Chicago, England, Canada, and throughout the Far East have featured her unique mix of music by Chinese and Western composers. Her virtuosity is showcased in the CD, “Portraits of China.” As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Marina Piccinini, Marcos Granados, and Ignat Solzhenitsyn.
Dr. Lin is committed educator who received her bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and her master’s and doctoral degrees from Indiana University. She is Emeritus Professor of Piano of Drake University in Des Moines, IA where she taught for 37 years before moving to West Windsor, NJ where she maintains a private piano student. She is past president of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association and the recipient of the 2014 Foundation Fellow. She is also the NJ-DE-PA tri-state representative of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music and the Program Director of Bravura Summer Music at Lawrenceville School, NJ.
Courtney Lin Kaita, Trustee
Courtney Lin Kaita is currently an Assistant Vice President in the Investments office at the Global Atlantic Financial Group. She was previously an Associate in the Fixed Income Sales & Trading group at Morgan Stanley and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan in 2012 with a B.M. in Cello Performance and B.S. in Applied Mathematics. Courtney continues to be passionate about music and the arts, as she is the principal cellist for the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra and co-principal cellist for the Greenwich Village Orchestra. She is also a founding member of the Brooklyn-based indie band, Sun Nectar, which recently released its first album and music video.
Myrna reiter, immediate past president
Myrna Reiter served as President of Bravura Philharmonics for six years. She feels that being a small part of an organization that brings joy to the hearts of people of all ages and all walks of life through music, is an honor.
Myrna was a Hospital account Manager for 30 years in the pharmaceutical business. She is past president of Knob Hill Country Club Community .
Myrna is presently a wish grantor for Make A Wish of New Jersey, she coaches golf to the individuals at ARC of Monmouth and partners with them in Special Olympics.
She is on the legal advisory committee for the Community Affairs Institute and s is also involved with Turning Lives Around. Her retirement has been spent givng of herself to different organizations and her goal is to continue to do so.
Arlene Sengstack, President
Arlene Sengstack is in charge of Donor Development at Hope Unlimited for Children, a faith-based organization committed to rescuing street children in Brazil. With a degree in piano performance, Arlene began her professional career at an international educational music publishing company. In 1986 she founded AV Search Consultants, New Jersey’s first legal search firm. Since 2012, she has been responsible for development with Remember Nhu and Hope Unlimited for Children. Both organizations align with her passion for children and her fundamental belief that the only real hope rests in the transformational power of the love of Jesus Christ.
Vickie Kuan, Social Media
Vickie Kuan enjoys working with her clients as their go-to photographer and filmmaker for their business and event needs. Throughout her career, she has amassed significant experience by helping businesses and individuals to tell their stories through eye-opening photos and video production.
As the co-founder of Joie Elie Photography, Vickie and her team provide professional photography and video services cost-effectively and efficiently. Her studio has been consistently voted the best wedding photographer by the local couples since 2013 and conducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017 by the No.1 wedding planning source- The Knot Magazine and the Wedding Wire.
Prior to coming to the USA to pursue her master's degree, Vickie studied commercial photography and received a B.A. in advertising from National ChengChi University in Taiwan, and worked as a Marcom specialist for ViewSonic International and the editor for the Advertising Age magazine. She attended Syracuse University, graduated with a M.S. degree in Telecom and Network Management from the School of Information Studies, and served as a Project Implementation Manager and Provisioning Technical Engineer in AT&T High-Speed Internet Department for over eight years.
Vickie enjoys classical music and supports local orchestras. She resides in central New Jersey with her husband and two daughters. She also likes hiking, swimming, chess, playing racquet ball, and table tennis and has competed in the Westchester Table Tennis Open.
