Paul von Autenried, Jr., age 16, has studied piano since the age of 4. He has been studying piano with Ms. Chiu-Tze Lin for the past seven years.  His previous teacher was  Dr. Ray Landers.  This past February, Paul won the Gold Prize in the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra Young Artists Concerto Competition.  As a resident of West Windsor, he was also the recipient of the inaugural West Windsor Award. 

Paul is a three-time First Place winner of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association Young Musician’s Competition and a two-time First Place winner of the Steinway Society Scholarship Competition.  He is the First Place winner of the Shore Music Educators Association Distinguished Artists Competition and the Special Award Recipient of the Suburban Music Study Club Competition.  In addition, Paul has earned the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) and the Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (DipABRSM), both with Distinction.

Paul  was the winner in the New Jersey Junior Piano Division of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competition.  Subsequently, he represented New Jersey in the thirteen-state division of the MTNA Eastern Conference Competition, where he received Second Place.  Paul was a Semi-Finalist in the International Institute for Young Musicians Piano Competition in Lawrence, Kansas.  Paul has performed as a soloist with the Manalapan Battleground Symphony and with the Shanghai Musicians Chamber Orchestra at the Grand Theatre in Shanghai, China.   He has performed at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.   Paul has recorded piano performances which have been broadcasted on the West Windsor Channel 27.  He also has performed live on Kansas Public Radio (KPR 91.5). 

Paul is a junior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in Princeton Junction, NJ.  He plays the cello in the school orchestra, he is a member of the boys’ junior varsity tennis team, and he was the President of the Class of 2012 for two years.  Paul is a student volunteer on the West Windsor Township Human Relations Council.  In his spare time, he teaches piano and music theory in his private studio.
